As 2025 approaches, a new year means a chance to reinvent ourselves – an opportunity to set new goals, put old habits to rest and change our lives for the better. However, unrealistic goals often set you up for failure and even resort to unhealthy crash dieting habits to see faster results. 

Here are four tips that help you to live more fully and healthily all year long.

1. Be realistic about changing your eating habits. 

You don’t have to change everything overnight. Just make one or two healthy changes each week, like drinking more plain water or jogging for 5 minutes each night. Once you have achieved this, you could try building on it over time, like adding the serves or trying a new exercise.

2. Cleaning out your pantry

The best method for avoiding the temptation of unhealthy foods is to keep them out of your home. Get rid of chocolate bars, potato chips, sugary drinks or your favourite ice cream. This way, they’re out of your sight and not readily tempting you.

3. Move more

You can get up and move just about anytime, anywhere to be more physically active and stay healthy. Aim to increase your step count by 1,000 steps a day until you reach the goal of 10,000 steps or more. 

4. Schedule an annual health screening.  

Having a health screening to kickstart your year is one of the most positive steps you can take. Early identification of medical issues help us catch medical problems before they become serious.
